About

Austyn Gillette is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles. Having begun to explore songwriting during his teenage years which ran concurrently as a hobby while pursuing his long-standing career as a professional skateboarder. Having had the time to experiment, and drawing from a diverse pool of genre influences such as folk, indie, and hip hop, Gillette crafts melody and texture with the intention of making you sway, think, and feel. The catchy riffs and ornamental incorporation of classic synthesizer sounds make Austyn Gillette’s output an easy, approachable listen, strung together by Gillette’s unique articulation and approach to what vocalization ought to typically be.

On June 18th, 2018, Gillette released his first solo album entitled, Sensorisk, which saw the realization of that conversational style, and explored the ways in which melody and deliberate composition could enhance lyrics molded by a narrative. After moving from Los Angeles to New York City in 2021, Gillette spent that hard New York Winter writing on his second studio album, Words We Won’t Wear, which doubled down and expanded upon Sensorisk’s ambitious exploration of narratives through melody, but with a more developed sense of discipline and even more compelling subject matter.
